Our cycles are available for test rides at our Westfield, MA headquarters.

How do you transport the cycle?
The cycle can be transported in one of three ways:

  1. If you have a large vehicle, the cycle may fit in the back with the seats folded down. We have a Honda Pilot that it easily slides into.
  2. There are a few different tricycle racks available on the market, all of which our cycle will fit onto.
  3. If you have a vehicle with a trailer hitch, the cycle can be transported on a small trailer attached to your vehicle.

No, there is no assembly required. All Freedom Cycles are shipped fully assembled and ready to ride.

Is the seat adjustable to accomodate different leg lengths?
Yes, the seat is adjustable to accommodate riders between 5' and 6'. The seat adjusts by lifting the quick release lever inside the storage compartment and sliding it forward or backward. Tighten the lever back up once the seat is in the desired location. If you have special height requirements, please contact us about building a special length trike for you.

What is the transmission ratio range?
The continuously variable transmission has an infinite number of gears and is equivalent to a 21-speed bike.

How do I know if I'm in a low or high gear?

On the handle there is a small picture of a person on a bicycle which changes from riding on flat ground to riding on a steep hill when you rotate the handle. Simply match the picture on the handle to the type of terrain you are on to select the appropriate gearing.

Can the tricycle be adapted for special needs?
Yes, the tricycle can be adapted for a variety of special needs. We recently hosted Nancy Bazanchuk of CHD Disability Resources at our facility in Westfield. We learned a lot about how the features of the trike relate to the special physical needs of some of the CHD community. We can make adjustments for people who can steer with only one hand and for people who can pedal with only one foot. Please contact us for more information on purchasing the Freedom Custom for someone with special needs.

Do you accept commercial orders?
Yes, we do accept bulk orders for retirement communities, rental shops, and other businesses. Please contact us for more information on commercial purchases.

Is there a warranty?
Yes, there is a one year warranty on all parts except tires and tubes. There is also a five year warranty on the frame. Please read our Terms and Conditions for the full details on the warranty policy.

What is the weight limit of the tricycle?
The tricycle can hold up to 250 lbs. If you are looking for a cycle with a higher weight capacity, please contact us at (877) 6-CYCLES or sales@aecycles.com and we can discuss custom building a heavy duty tricycle for you.
